If you go down to the Verulamium park on 6 December watch out for Reindeer on the loose as they chase round the lake followed by 100’s of Santa’s.
A group of school children from Camp School in St Albans are already preparing for the first ever Grove House Hospice Jingle Bell Jog which takes place on Sunday 12th December at 11.00am in Verulamium Park.
The school children will be among several hundred which are expected to join in with the event which will see the adults dressed in Santa suits and the children with reindeer antlers.
Caroline Sammon one of the mum’s said, “When the year 1 mums heard about the Jingle Bell Jog we thought it sounded great fun and just the thing to burn of some of the children’s excited energy in the run up to Christmas. At Camp School the children are encouraged to take part in exercise so the jingle bell jog is the perfect event to get involved with. The children are eager to put on their reindeer ears and race around the lake.”
She went on to add, “We had no problems getting some of the dads onboard when they heard that Sarah Jane Honeywell would be starting the jog.”
Kathryn Wash Events and Fundraising Manager for Grove House Hospice said, “Everyone at the hospice is very excited about our first Jingle Bell Jog. The jog is aimed at people of all ages from toddlers to grandparents and people can complete the lap round the park at their own speed. We hope that the event will not only provide a fun morning out for St Alban’s families but also help raise much needed funds for the hospice.
The event takes place on the 12th December 2010 at 11.00am in Verulamium Park and will include a Christmas market plus the chance to visit Father Christmas in his grotto at the Inn on the Park.
